Privacy you can understand
The AI runs on a computer at home. Conversations are never sent to external providers.
Designed for children · Shaped by your family
At home, with family close by.
Famil·IA runs locally without relying on the internet, adapting each experience to the child's age, chosen mode and family guidelines.
Hello
The starting point
Famil·IA began as an experiment at home. We wanted children to discover artificial intelligence without exposing their conversations, receiving unsuitable answers or losing the family's ability to guide how it is used.

02
Families set guidelines, alerts, age profiles and ways of helping, so the experience reflects how they choose to educate.
“We weren't looking for an AI that answered everything. We wanted a better way to discover things together.”
The origin of Famil·IA
Try it without connecting to any AI
Choose a mode and a question. The answers recreate the approach of the real prototype.
What do you want to ask?
Interactive tour based on the prototype. This is not a live conversation.
Caring is also explaining
Famil·IA tries to keep the conversation useful, with age-appropriate language and a clear cue whenever an adult should step in.
Family setup
The family dashboard lets you tailor how Famil·IA provides support. Try this interactive recreation and see how its guidelines work.

How it works
The architecture is designed to make the technology understandable, even when it stays out of sight.
They use Famil·IA from a device connected to the family computer.
The model runs within the home, without depending on an external cloud.
Age, mode, useful context and family rules guide each response.
Conversations and settings are preserved locally.
The prototype works as a local web application. A Node.js server organises profiles, modes and conversations; SQLite stores the information on the family computer; and Ollama runs the language model locally too.
Before responding, Famil·IA combines the selected mode, age, family guidelines and, when useful, reviewable memories or library materials. It then applies checks to maintain the chosen style and boundaries.
This public website is a static recreation: it does not connect to Node.js, SQLite, Ollama or the home server.
More than one way to learn
The interactive demo above lets you explore four of them. The functional prototype includes twelve modes for talking, practising and creating.
Chat, ask questions and organise ideas.
Learn through clues and steps.
Read, understand and create stories.
Practice with games and short phrases.
Understand numbers, operations and problems.
Discover logic and code.
Design objects step by step.
Short missions to think or move.
Ideas for home and family.
Explore science, animals and the real world.
Express emotions and look for a small step.
Adventures, decisions, campaigns and dice.
Where are we
Famil·IA already has a working prototype and has completed its first tests at home with profiles for ages 8 and 10. Now we want to hear from more families, educators and professionals before deciding how it should evolve.
Built from home
Famil·IA grew from a search for a way to bring artificial intelligence closer to children without giving up privacy or turning parents into a permanent filter.
When we could not find a solution that combined both, we began building one at home: testing, observing, talking and improving.
Participate in the next stage
We are looking for families, educators and professionals who would like to try an early version and share what works, what they find useful and how they would like to see it evolve.
